Narrative history
  R63992 Warrant Officer 1 (RCAF pilot) Gerald Clark (Gerry) Hughes (b.1918) of Toronto, Ontario, died 19430819 and is buried in the soldiers' plot at Regina cemetery. Hughes was the only casualty when his Fleet Fort aircraft was involved in a midair collision while on a training exercise from No. 3 Wireless School and crashed at Stevenson Field, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was the son of Allan Percival and Bertha (Armstrong) Hughes of Regina and left a wife Madeleine Joyce (Early) at Saskatoon. Gerry was born at Calgary, Alberta, attended Davin and Lakeview schools and Campion college at Regina and was working as an underwriter when he enlisted at Toronto in 1940.
